Can you believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving? I feel like this year – especially this year – has FLOWN! Seriously, it was just June and I was so excited it was finally Summer and the days were long and I had so much planned. Then you blink…and it’s November – the end of November, actually.
Chad and I are keeping it pretty low key for the holidays this year. With the wedding and all of the traveling he has been doing for work this year, we are taking advantage of any long weekend we can get to just stay at home.
We have family that live near by and we’ll be having dinner with them. I’m making an appetizer and some desserts… and I will definitely be bringing a drink – probably these cranberry sparklers, possibly just champagne, depends on my level of laziness.
Wanna talk about these sparklers? They are my new favorite drink – mostly because they taste equally delicious with or without booze. I’ve been having these uber hangovers lately – like have two drinks and feel like hell the entire next day. Or I’ll have one beer when I get home from work and I’m passed out on the couch at 7:30. Being in your thirties ain’t no joke…
So add booze to these, or don’t – they are damn good either way. Plus they are super festive and you can use up any of those extra cranberries you have around the house (cause they are just too nasty to eat plain!). And that sprig of rosemary – so fragrant and like a Christmas tree in your drink!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving internet friends and and even happier black Friday! (I’m already scouring the interwebs for deals!)
- 2 ounces cranberry juice
- 4 ounces club soda (or flavored sparkling water - I used a La Croix)
- 2 ounces of vodka, optional
- cranberries and rosemary sprig, for garnish
- In a tall glass filled with ice, pour in cranberry juice then add soda water and vodka if using.
- Add a sprig of rosemary and top with fresh cranberries.
- Serve immediately!
